SIMONA SIMONINI – PREMIERE-Sunt lacrymae rerum (Nostalgia for a flute in G) The composition recalls a famous verse of the Latin poet Virgil in the Aeneid (there are tears in things that touch the mind of mortals) whose meaning becomes the nostalgic path the alto flute in G that sinks into the sounds of the whole extent timbre of the instrument to express, through a kaleidoscope of sound figures, which is also suffering and that of the “flute”.
